Bespoke Sponsors Students - Contract Management Event

In 89% of major corporations, contract and commercial management are gaining increased focus and importance as strategic enablers of the business. This was the topic that Rigard Geyser, Southern Africa Representative of The International Association for Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM), expanded on in his Keynote Address at the recent 3rd Annual Contract Management Seminar + Workshop 2013 held in Johannesburg.  He told delegates that “contracts should be fit for purpose and that the needs of the customer or supplier should be clearly understood”.

Dr Tetteh Affotey-Walters, Chief: Contract Management for United Nations, delivered a presentation about the three fundamental components of contract management, viz. Statement of Work, Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.

Bespoke, in partnership with the IACCM, sponsored two students to the event. Sandra Matlala, a VirtuoSCity CIPS Student, said that she ’really appreciated what Bespoke has done for her’ and Monique Ten-Brink, UNISA LLB student, remarked that she “thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience, especially the workshop on the concepts and principles of contract law.”

The event attracted senior contract and commercial management professionals from across the African continent. “In its third year, seminar has become the cornerstone event for contract and commercial managers in Africa,” says Andrew Hillman, Managing Director of Bespoke.

Delegates also benefited from presentations delivered by contract managers from ELB Engineering, Eskom, Group Five and Huawei around the event theme ‘Delivering Value Based Contracts in a Competitive Environment’.

The 4th Annual Contract Management Seminar + Workshop 2014 is scheduled to take place in Johannesburg on 28 & 29 October 2014.
